He took her to the temple, they talked and watched the sun set lower behind the mountains. It was a beautiful sight. The evening was beautiful. He spoke for a while, then he knelt and said, "Elisabeth, WILL YOU... help me tie my shoe?"
AHH.. the nerve!!
Then, a month later he felt inclined to take her to the same spot behind the temple. Again, the sun began to set, and conversation simplified... relaxed between them. Those once asked questions lingered in the air,
"Have you ever loved?"
"Have you ever been loved?"
"You're beautiful."
She answered with honesty, sincerely thinking out her feelings. He smiled at the answers while listening quietly. There, in the grass he slowly knelt, looking into her eyes, he said, "Elisabeth, will you marry me?" She could feel him reaching for her hand. "Are you serious?! Words of shock, and surprise rolled in one. Was he actually proposing that 'She, a plain girl... marry him?!' He smiled nodding, "Yes, I'm serious!"
"Yes!" escaped her lips her lips quickly, automatically. This is what she had wanted; this gift from him... to be his wife. She finally got her wish.

YES... I'm engaged. Weird, Cool, as my man's little sisters would say, "It's not weird, It's great! It's awesome!"
Hooray! I found lis's blog!!!!
Lisbeth, we love you!! So glad Anne found your blog. Your gonna be all linked up.. and in a month or so, I will be checking to see your wedded bliss updates.
Love you lady!!
The engagement story is so fun to read! Did he really fake you out the first time he asked? That's funny!! Well, now it's funny, maybe then, only sort of funny. :-)
Did you know Brian faked me out too? He also asked twice, first time, I think he chickened out, then tried it again a week later. I wonder how many boys do that?
beautiful!! the pictures, the story, the couple...I love it!! I love that Anne found your blog so we can finally be nosey in your life!!
Jon, Laura and Ryley are coming to see me at my "Women at the Well" production. I begged Jon to come so he would record my song for me. I'll try to blog the video ...if I can ever figure out how to get my video's to upload. So altho Im sad for you guys that he's not close to you, I can't tell you how happy I am that he is here, close to me. He and Laura just found a cool house to rent and will (hopefully if it all works like they think it will) be moving in on the first of Oct. and he will be TWO BLOCKS from his work!! okay, this is an email now so I must stop before it becomes an epistle. I love you and welcome to the blogging fold!!!
that is great, but we do miss him. Yesterday, Mom, Laura, Janell and i were talking and mom said "It's too bad that Jon moved, We really miss him comin' around. We sure did get pretty close to him, didnt we?" It took me by surprise, but it thought it was a pretty nice thing of mom to say about jon. Mom was right, we all miss him. He did a lot to help us out. even though he never said i love you or hugging..you could tell that he cared. It was in his conversation, his help with the yard or computers. i think he just has a different way of showing his love....even if it is not the way you want him to. I miss him. Please tell them hi. Also, i wish you luck with The Women at the Well thing.
Dang...i dont know why we typr so much...does that mean that we talk too much as well....i always thought that Kirsten would be the one to talk a lot, but she doesnt seem to write very much on my blog..you hear that? Kirsten....
Your all acting as if Jon died *well all except for becca. He's just a phone call away. I talk to him all the time still. Weirdest thing, he just lived a few blocks from me and I saw him about as much as everyone in springville saw him. That's taking advantage of family close by, isn't it. He better come to the wedding...I hope so!!! Ah. PS. I don't remember my password to change my blog, I hope I can figure it out!! Lis
it worked!!! I have my password!!! Wahoo. Now I just have to figure out how to make a cool site. Hmmm. Don't have a clue... Any tips anyone?
sure lady! What do you want to do to make your site cool?
I love the descriptive story. Nate's original proposal was meant to be a fake out, but it didn't turn out that way, so.... yeah, my husband is the bravest I guess... I hope you are all at either Elisabeth's wedding or at Anne's SO I can bug and hug and kiss you all. Anne's house is awesome by the way, and she's a good cook for never having her own place.
Im jealous you got to go see her- but I can't wait to go stay with them!! Ryan isn't sure if we can afford to have him come too but Jon and Laura are thinking we can all drive up together. I'll just have to bring an ipod. Now I need to get an ipod and a dress. They plan on bringing Rylee so I think I might still bring our girls (we were thinking of having them stay here) so we're not sure yet of everything but that's the update.
NO WAY!! That's it, we just need to tell our husbands we're going to a wedding every two or three months or so and go off and have a sister's day or something just cause we miss each other.... it's kinda funny, but I think I'm closer to all of you than when we lived in the same house... course I might just be saying this cause I'm listening to Love,me by Collin Raye, and it always makes me so happy to think that a marriage could be that happy from a kinda crazy start, and reminds me of the faith we have that we will see mom again someday... :'-)
I love it, fantastic idea!! Lets see , the third "wedding" will be in March I think because thats 3 months after Anne's.
ALRIGHT! Who's getting married? Hmm....has to be someone we all know, we need to get this coordinated so that the husbands wont suspect should they call eachother and wonder about why we are all suddenly wanting to go to weddings all the time. Hey- we could get spa products and other party stuff and say its the wedding gift!
ooh, you are sneaky!~ I hear that Eddie Murphy is engaged and JoDee Messina....I bet we could add those to a list of weddings that need to have more guests!
so exited. I remember when I was the new guy in the fam and now there are two new guys and I am not any longer.
LISBEEDEFF!!!!! herrooo?! I guess wedding prep's trump blogging, huh?
Congratulations! You are living it up in wedded bliss!!
Your wedding was wonderful! You looked so beautiful and so happy!
Happy Birthday too, since I called but you were, eh.. busy??.... or something...
Love you 'Lisbeth!
Also, to the "SisterHood"... of course we do have a "wedding" coming up in January... Anne's. I just am having the roughest job of trying to convince Brian that the roads will not be "that" bad in January, he says, it's a long and dangerous drive.. so I say, fly.. then he just laughs... I guess five tickets is a bit much.... what ever, he is a pilot... we could Rent a Plane!!! Ha! ..I will let you know if that idea catches on with him!!!
Later chickas!
Oh, yeah, and sad for Daniel (the romantic name), because, he is stuck as the "new guy in the fam" (as Nate said)...
guess he won't mind it too much. He gets to keep our Lisbeth... miss you, um... blog on up with us... or call or something when you can.
you've been married now for a whole week!!! now you're going to have to change you initials from E.A.G. to ...E.A.G.!!haha
